Photo Pro Deluxe is an excellent, pixel-based, image manipulation and editing program. You can use it to edit photographs and other graphics. Or, you can create stunning graphics from scratch with it.

Originally, Photo Pro Deluxe was a Linux/UNIX program. However, it has been ported to the Mac OS X platform -- that effectively makes Photo Pro Deluxe a cross-platform program. The upgrade was purely cosmetic, to give Photo Pro Deluxe the look and feel of Adobe Photoshop.

Photo Pro Deluxe v Photo$hop:

Photo Pro Deluxe looks and feels much like Adobe Photoshop. There are desktop and user interface (UI) differences between Photo Pro Deluxe and Photoshop. That might take some getting use to if you already are familiar with Photoshop.

Traditionally, Photoshop has had an easier to use desktop and user interface. However, the Photo Pro Deluxe user interface changes all that. Photo Pro Deluxe now is as easy to use as is Photoshop -- perhaps even easier.

Photo Pro Deluxe does not have some of the the advanced, commercial, pre-press features that Photoshop has. However, it comes pretty close to Photoshop with actual photo editing and image manipulation. Moreover, Photo Pro Deluxe has some features that Photoshop does not have.

In short, you likely can do just about everything that you need or want to do with Photo Pro Deluxe instead of Adobe Photoshop. Moreover at Photoshop's $649 price tag, there are 649 more good reasons to use Photo Pro Deluxe instead of Photoshop.
